Waiting Room

The practice has a welcoming large reception area with high ceilings and large double aspect windows. This open airy feel provides a calm environment for waiting pets. We also have a separate waiting area designated for our feline visitors.

The reception desk is open plan to promote interaction between our staff and waiting clients. We can often be seen cuddling waiting pets and giving them treats to ensure a stress free visit to the vets.

We have a large flat screen television to play educational and entertaining videos to clients waiting for their appointments.

Consulting Rooms

The three consulting rooms are well lit and well equipped. All appointments are 15 minutes long to allow a thorough examination of your pet and in-depth discussion and explanation of the treatment and care required. We especially like to take our time with nervous patients and if your pet falls into this category please inform reception when booking your appointment.

Consultations at Blackberry Veterinary Clinic are by pre-booked appointments only to reduce waiting times to the bare minimum. We will of course prioritise and see any emergency cases immediately on arrival at the practice. You will find our opening times and contact information here.

Treatment Room

Our treatment room is at the centre of Blackberry Veterinary Clinic. It is where we hospitalise in-patients, recover animals after surgery, perform non-sterile procedures like dental work and other non-surgical procedures. This arrangement ensures effective and constant monitoring of all pets kept in the practice by all the clinical staff.

Pets recovering from anaesthetic are attended on a one to one basis by the nursing staff to ensure a safe and peaceful recovery from surgery and anaesthesia. Once they have woken from the anaesthitic, the nurse will provide a meal and a drink of water and the owner of the pet will be contacted to let them know that everything has gone smoothly and their pet has recovered safely from the anaesthetic.

We have a designated lab area to ensure we can run many blood and urine tests in house with prompt results being reported back within half hour.

Operating Theatre

We have a separate dedicated operating theatre where all sterile surgical procedures are performed. Equipment in the theatre includes a wide range of surgical tools and equipment, dedicated theatre lighting, anaesthetic machines, x-ray machine, ultrasound machine and dedicated air extractor fans.

Having an animal undergo surgery is always a worrying time for an owner. We will always be happy to explain the procedure to you and show you the area where the operations are done. We will always call you as soon as your pet is awake to let you know how the operation has gone and discuss when they can go home.

Most of our routine procedures take place in the morning or early afternoon so that your pet is able to go home later the same day. When your pet is discharged from our care, a vet or nurse will discuss what was done and what after care is required with you on a one to one basis.
